Treatment of partial deafness

Better and better results of treatment of the profound hearing loss, particularly in younger children, encourage us to take up the new challenges and to introduce the newest technological solutions to clinical practice. This bold approach brought along development of the new generation of implants, designed through the collaboration of scientists, bioengineers and implant companies. Many specialists from allover the world, from the USA, Australia and Europe, are searching for new ways of increasing capacities of cochlear implants in order to enable patients to communicate freely with their environment. We witness extraordinary changes and fast technological progress in the field of cochlear implants, including speech coding strategies, implantation techniques, processor fitting, new electrode types and software enabling remote fitting of the speech processor.
